Setting up CuteFTP

CuteFTP is a very popular and easy to use FTP Program which we highly recommend. It is very powerful, yet very easy to use and is one of the simplest ways to access your Host4Yourself Account and upload your website. With this step-by-step guide, you will be using CuteFTP and uploading your website in minutes! The first time you run CuteFTP you will see a window that looks like this:

The first thing you need to do is setup a new connection so in the future all you need to do is double click on it to connect to your account. To do this, click on the "New" button in the left-hand lower-corner of the window and begin entering your ftp account information in the right side of the window like so:

Enter anything you want under "Label for Site", and then enter your domain name as the FTP host address. Also enter your username (which is the same as your domain name) and password. To make things a little easier, you will also want to click on the "Edit" button in the bottom-center of this window.

When you do this, it will bring up a window that looks like this. You will want to add "/home/yourdomain/www" under "Default Remote Directory" so that CuteFTP will automatically bring you to your web directory. This step IS optional.

When you are finished, your window should look like this, where "yourdomain" is your domain name. Once this is done, click OK in this window and then "Connect" in the next window. Now CuteFTP is completely setup and you can instantly connect to your Host4Yourself Account at any time simply by running CuteFTP and clicking on the connection you've just set up!
